Nio Denmark recently released an invitation to the NIO ET5 launch event, scheduled for April 12 in Kastrup, just outside Copenhagen. Chinese media had speculated that ET5 Touring could be released as a surprise at the event, but Nio has denied these rumours.

The Hefei-based EV startup has made their mark in Europe with three vehicles: Nio ET5 mid-size sedan, ET7 sedan, and EL7 SUV (in China known as the ES7). The most affordable of these cars is the ET5. It retails for 424,000 DKK ($60,800) without the battery and 592,000 DKK ($85,000) including a 100 kWh pack when purchased in Denmark.
In October last year, Nio made its entry into the European Union (EU) market, with four countries – Germany, Sweden, Netherlands and Denmark – as the inaugural markets. The company then moved to Norway this year and just recently arrived with the first batch of ET5 there.

The NIO ET5 boasts a five-seater design with ample room for passengers. It measures 4790/1960/1499mm in length, width and height respectively, offering a wheelbase of 2888 mm. Under the hood, an electric twin motor system provides 360 kW hp and 700 Nm. In China, those interested can purchase the vehicle without the battery for 258,000 yuan ($37,500) and with the 100 kWh battery for 386,00 yuan ($56,000).
In February, Nio saw an impressive expansion in the Chinese EV market compared to the prior year, with sales of 12,157 units representing a 98.3% jump. Additionally, compared to January, this number was 43% higher. Nevertheless, when contrasted to December's 15,815 vehicles sold, the figure for January was lower at 8,506. The February sales broke down further into 5,037 high-end electric SUVs and 7,120 high-end electric sedans.
