Polestar Design Studio
During Polestar's rapid expansion, the company outgrew its space in Volvo's Gothenburg design studios. For a new location, Ingenlath chose Volvo's now abandoned HQ.
Polestar has renovated and transformed an iconic corporate building in Gothenburg, giving it a new role as the company’s design studio. The reimagined structure contains inspiring spaces to create and innovate, continuing its legacy of being at the forefront of modern architecture.
This prime location was chosen by Pehr G Gyllenhammar, Volvo CEO from 1970 to 1994, to provide the ultimate in 1980s-era executive suites, blending Scandinavian style with brutalist materials and neoclassical design.

Polestar and IONITY
Polestar adds convenience to charging by removing the ignition and increased aerodynamic efficiency by removing the mirror frames.
As part of the Plugsurfing agreement, Polestar owners will have access to over 200,000 public charging points in Europe, including IONITY, using one authentication and payment platform.
“This is a prime example of how collaboration in the ever-growing free market of public charging infrastructure can be used to benefit our customers, much like our recent partnership with ChargePoint in North America,” says Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
The exclusive initiative in Europe demonstrates a model that may be applicable to other markets as well. Remove the charging tags and add convenience. The EV experience will be enhanced tremendously by removing range anxiety and uncertainty about infrastructure.
